Writer's Fog

This is how bad it gets, deep into a manuscript:

Yesterday it was 4:15 PM before I noticed I was wearing mismatched socks.

We're not talking one black sock and one dark blue sock. We're talking one with stripes and one with kitty cats all over it.

And I wasn't wearing shoes.

No, but I slip on mocs when I take the dog out. You'd think I would've at least glanced at my feet when doing that.

It's the sun's fault, for coming up so late in the morning.

I intentionally put on mismatched socks.

Late at night, inspiration comes. The next morning I'll read over what I wrote and find that it doesn't make sense.
