Totem animal story

While Googling "deer totem meaning" (I'm putting a Deer Dude in Wings of Crow and wanted some ideas of what his magical powers might be), I found this lovely story by Lorna Tedder on how her elementary school-age daughter found her totem animal.

It's a really nice outline of how anyone can find their animal (my quiz notwithstanding), barring a trip to an actual practitioner of shamanism.

I'm a Brown Bear. My dad is big into earth medicine and shamanism. He's even building a teepee by hand, taht we can wear our bear pelts inside during the winter.

Every Christmas we get the story about the spirit that moves through all things...

Imagine a bull-hunk German pretending he's a Native Canadian.

Cool, Vivi! Did your dad find your animal for you or did you do it on your own?

Y'know, out of context, that was a really weird-sounding question.
